McCordsville is a town in Vernon Township, Hancock County, Indiana. Located 18 miles northeast of Indianapolis and 10 miles southeast of Fishers, McCordsville is a fast-growing community. Due to its close proximity to several cities, McCordsville has developed into a bustling town with a rising population. Although the land was plotted and laid out in 1865, the town was renamed in 1873 after the McCord family visited there.Today, many from the surrounding towns and cities visit McCordsville to enjoy the midwestern atmosphere. For those over the age of 21, Daniel's Vineyard offers wine tasting and other related events throughout the year. Conveniently located off of State Highway 67, the town provides access to several Interstates including I-70, I-69, and I-465. Those looking to fly to or from McCordsville are 26 miles away from Indianapolis International Airport, the primary source of air travel in the area.
Though just outside several big cities, McCordsville is filled with natural scenery. Located along the Geist Reservoir, the land surrounding McCordsville offers plenty of outdoor recreation for all to enjoy. 5 miles away (or a quick 10-minute drive) is Geist Park, a beautiful waterfront park that is currently under construction and will feature a beach, walking trails, and a boat launch.
