Lebanon, Indiana is the largest city in Boone County, is located 30 miles north of Indianapolis. A city that cherishes its rich history, Lebanon emphasizes cultural events for families that also serve to bring the community together. Lebanon is an eclectic city that features a mix of residential and industrial environments and prides itself on being named “The Friendly City.”

Lebanon’s most popular attraction is the Boone County Courthouse in the town square. The 100 year-old Courthouse is famous for its world’s largest single-piece limestone pillars. It also features the second largest stained glass dome in the state of Indiana, as well as eight functioning Hahl clocks.

Lebanon takes pride in giving residents opportunities to participate in cultural events. The Back to the Fifties Festival features cars, fashion, and traditions of the time period. The Boone County Master Gardener Garden Fest offers creative landscaping ideas for the garden-savvy. Residents can learn homemaking skills and crafts at Heritage Skills: Past to Present Day or learn about Native American traditions at one of Lebanon’s semi-annual Traditional Powwows hosted by the American Indian Council.

As the Boone County Seat, Lebanon hosts a variety of other festivals and events throughout the year like the 4-H Fair, run/walk events, and a Fourth of July festival. Abner Longley Park in Lebanon welcomes the Indianapolis Symphony for the annual Symphony at Sunset.
